Book Description

23 Jan 1999 Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Old Magic, New Problem

The Hellmouth (a.k.a. Sunnydale, CA) has drawn vampires, witches, and other demons to its powerful vortex. Now it has also drawn the attention of an ancient set of Druids -- allies in Buffy Summers' battle against the Undead.

Clocked in Darkness, wrapped in mystery, the Druids descend on Sunnydale ready to perform new rituals to summon forth a new world order, free from the evil that shapes Buffy's nights.

But the Slayer's concerns are more immediate -- someone is stalking her friends. Cordelia, Xander, and Oz -- all are falling victim to this spell. And now it's up to Willow and Giles to find the cause, while Buffy stands between the Mouth of Hell and the New Dawn.

3.0 out of 5 stars a bit of a drag. 15 Mar 2007
Format:Mass Market Paperback
i am an avid buffy fan and have nearly all of the buffy books, but have found that i could not really get into this book, it was fairly slow to start and the lack of angel love was a bit offputting(and no a stupid druid called ian will not do!) this book sees druids come to town,3 brothers and an uncle who want to cure the world of evil, there are a few things that were good like oz wondering if he should have his wolf side reversed, but on the whole it is a bit of a guessable book, if you are an avid buffy fan like me and just want the entire collection or like the earlier seasons of buffy, then i recommend it.

enjoy! :0)

3.0 out of 5 stars fairly good but not the best 23 July 2000
By A Customer
Format:Mass Market Paperback
A good read but not the best out of the Buffy books. It's hard to get into at first but once you get past the first few chapters it's hard to put down. The build up to the major conflict was good but the story died out after that.It could have done with some more background , but all in all it was a good read for all true Buffy the vampire slayer fans.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not the best of the Buffy books by far 21 Jun 2000
Format:Mass Market Paperback
A bit disappointing. The characters were rather shakily drawn and the plot drawn out.

This is a brilliant story! The author captivates you with descriptions of the characters are the best I have ever read. Plus there are new characters, Druids! This is a bit weird, but good! Anyone who likes Buffy has to read this book.

I thought this was a good book but it was a bit slow to get going and the ending wasn't as good. However I still enjoyed reading it and I'd recommend it to any Buffy fan

5.0 out of 5 stars This is a brilliant book! 21 Nov 1999

Buffy must save the world yet again! Her and the gang have to team up with some welsh druids. But who's side are they on? With the hell mouth opening even most vampires are scared off. Is this a good sign? Or is it more bad than good?

This is the first Buffy book I have read. The storyline is equally compelling to the series. The content is so accurate that you can almost hear the characters speak in your head. An excellent intro to Buffy and a great read even if you're not a fan of the show.

3.0 out of 5 stars Well written but slow 9 Sep 1999
By A Customer
Format:Mass Market Paperback
I think the tale is rather padded out, whilst enjoyable it is rather a long winded climb to the final showdown. Characterisations are excellent but Buffy seems out of the action for most of it. A good read on the train but you won't be crying out to get back to it when you put it down.
