AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!
I bought the item to connect my EX HDD to my computer as I lost my other cable while away. When I received it, I plugged it into the HDD and then into my computer. Within a few seconds my computer had turned itself off and I could smell burning plastic.
It then took 2 hours to get the computer on after taking the case off etc. and when it did come on I found that it had blown ALL 8 of my USB ports. I then had to go out and spend £115 for a new Motherboard so I could get my computer working again.
After contacting the seller they said they would send a new one out and to try it on my new motherboard - are they having a laugh?!?! There is no way I am willing to risk it blowing my new board too!! - The seller hasn't responded to my other email and there has been no offer of a refund. It might only be 2.40 to them but this has cost £117.40 and still I dont have the cable I needed in the first place.

I bought this cable in good faith, expecting it to work. IT WAS COMPLETELY HOPELESS. Didn't work at all and when I spoke to a friend that works within the 'techie' IT business he explained exactly why it wouldn't work. It's one of those ideas that seems a good one in theory to folk like me that aren't techies! I feel very stupid that I got conned and these guys got my money. Certainly won't happen again!

This product didn't work at all. Alas, I should have read the other reviews. Utterly disastrous! Amazon should remove this product from their listings.

Not exactly what I thought...
I've tried all the plugs in my kit, and they don't all work. The retracting extension cord doesn't work, so I have to use other USB-extensions. And a few of the plugs doesn't work. Read more

Dissapointed
Bought for the firewire /usb adapter, crashed windows 7 after message of "uninstalled drivers". Am now forced to rebuild laptop. Very irritated.

Firewire itself doesn't work for data transfer but you can use it to charge devices. TBH i was just buying it for the adapters anyway. Read more
