I bought a set of these Resurrection Eggs about two years ago and I have constantly used them in Easter Services, special Easter Assemblies at Junior School, in Family Services especially on Good Friday. I have even used them at an Easter Saturday Hot Cross Bun Fight! Since eggs are so pervasive in our culture at Easter (UK) these eggs and the real story you can unveil through them helps the children re-identify the new life of a real egg with the new life and the tomb. They seem to get it really easily. One activity (used with both adults and children) was to hunt the eggs, collect them and tell the story by revealing the contents in order. Then at the end as participants gave their Resurrection Eggs to us we 'substituted' an equivalent sized chocolate egg. I bought several boxes as my children's worker was jealous and a gran wanted to do this next year when her family came round at Easter to collect their eggs! Simples!

I'm all for Christian items for a Christian festival!
I bought these as an Easter present for a (Christian) friend's children when I went to stay with them over Easter.
We hid each egg around the house as an Easter egg hunt - each one accompanied by small chocolate eggs (one for each child!). The kids are quite lively so we set them a target of a certain number of minutes (how well they are hidden will affect this!) to find them all (but not open them at this point - or eat the chocolate ones!). They brought them back to a central location (table) and when the eggs had all been found they were given the task (untimed) of opening them and arranging them in order of the events of that first Easter. Much discussion was had and they thoroughly enjoyed it all. They then wanted to take turns reading (well the two older ones who could read, anyway) from the accompanying booklet whilst the youngest held up the relevant little object (donkey, whip, praying hands etc) - a bit like a children's address given in a church service!

This is a lovely egg story set I look forward to showing to the kids at Easter. There were some items in the plastic eggs wrapped and some items in the plastic eggs unwrapped... and there was no book... its not really a problem because we can use the Bible, however I wonder if it's a second hand set.... it is nice however to have a product that will help us think about the Christian Easter Story...

I bought these eggs for my 5 year old son to help him picture the Easter Story. The eggs are beautifully painted and the 'gifts' inside are great. I really recommend this product for families/schools/liturgy groups - this visual, tactile product is an excellent way to help young (and old alike!) understand the story
