I'm often suspect of reviews on Amazon. Clearly written by fans , they are biased , regardless od whether output is any good or not.
I'd be happy to criticise 'Restless Soul' if I could but I can't.
It's 14 tracks of lyrical and musical quality par excellence. This is by far their most accessible album , with something here for everyone. From the opening , heart wrenching but toe tapping , 'When Love Struck You Down' , to 'One More Down' , they take us through all of lifes journeys ; Relationship breakdowns , the joys of an odd tipple , personal loss and the joie de vivre.
The Reids are the roses amongst thorns in the music world today. Bored of The Proclaimers , and you're bored of life.

This is a grower.
Less rocky than its predecessor 'Born Innocent', this album sees the boys experimenting with more diverse instrumentation, with pretty juicy production that results in every song having its appeal in a different way.
Some songs are gradual starters, but I didn't write them off. The unmistakable emotion and spirit of C&C's vocals really drive them, whether its crisp, top-of-their voice harmonies or thoughtful, fragile melodies.
I like this album becasue I like the Proclaimers as artists. I like it even more now because after a few listens, it's more adventurous than what's gone before, and cracks the mould even further that C&C are just a pair of 'acoustic' singer songwriters.
The last track (One more down) was in my head for about two days. And it didn't bother me!

From the first track to the last this is a wonderful experience, if anyone out there hasn't heard a Proclaimers album this is a great place to start. Thanks to Craig and Charlie (and the band) for giving us a treat to listen to!

This album is definitely worth buying, it is classic Proclaimers only slightly better, and as said previously it grows on you with every listen. Read more

Back on Form
Restless souls is a masterpiece from Craig and Charlie. A lot of their early country influence flows through the album. This takes you on a journey from the first beat to the last. Read more
