I wanted this device for peace of mind but since getting the device, the alarm goes off without reason, which is very unsettling for the time it takes to wake up and realise and check everything's ok. When I check my daughter, thankfully she's fine, and I can see no reasonable or obvious reason for why the device is not sitting close to her body. Another problem I find is the device does not turn on properly and I have to turn it off and then on again (sometimes twice) before it starts up the way it should. I returned the device to the manufacturer but they returned it saying there was nothing wrong. I don't believe them quite frankly, I use the device every day and I know when it's not working as it says in the instructions.
Despite the negativity I have written above, I would still recommend buying the device. I'd rather the device's alarm go off a million times unnecessarily than not at all.

I had no issue using this product - it works perfectly for us. I remember 1 false alarm when my son somehow took it off of his nappy. But that`s all otherwise very good. I used it mostly when travelling and it did the job. Great product and no battery issues after 5 month...
For our first child we bought the Angelcare Movement Monitor - it was fab. Then we had twins and that became redundant. After some research we came up with the Respisense Ditto. So we bought 2 units. Overall our experience has been positive, however, one of the units has managed to eat its way through a Fresh Lithium Battery from Respisense every month of use. We do not use it continuously, in fact it only goes on the babies at night. The other unit is still on the first set of batteries. We returned the unit to the UK manufacturer, who to their credit were very helpful, but have not found a fault with the unit. I would be cautious with it purchase and be warned you may end up with a unit similar to ours.

nice little bit of kit
pricey yes but very reassuring when you wake in the night and you can see the green light flashing under the blanket, havent had any false alarms so far thank goodness. Read more

Respisense Ditto Monitor
Works brilliantly. Have an alternative sleep apnoea monitor by Tommee Tippee which stays in the cot in the nursery - which is where my baby takes her daytime naps. Read more
