Lost Angel is a shining example of the rule that the best crime fiction isn't just about crime; it's also about family, relationships, love . . . and hate. From The Godfather to The Sopranos, these are the stories that grip us most intensely. And Heller is at the top of her game with this one--it's captivating from first page to last. (Jeffery Deaver on LOST ANGEL)

A hectic pace . . . will please fans of Martina Cole. (Bella on LOST ANGEL)

Mandasue has played a real blinder with this fantastic novel. (Martina Cole on FORGET ME NOT)

Cracking page-turner . . . a gritty compassionate account of life on the margins. (Manchester Evening News on FORGET ME NOT)

'A cracking read that will chill you to the bone.' (Sun on TWO-FACED)

'One of the bad girls of gritty crime, Heller has written a blinder.' (Daily Mirror on TWO-FACED)

'A glamorous nightclub hides a seedy underworld that Heller knows only too well.' (Daily Express on THE CLUB)

Gripping . . . powerful writing. (Scotland on Sunday on FORGET ME NOT)

4.0 out of 5 stars Entertaining Novel 30 Jan 2014
By ACB (swansea) TOP 50 REVIEWER
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Mary goes on holiday to Spain and doesn't come back. Without any warning, she leaves her 15 year old daughter, Chantelle, and 9 year old son, Leon, to fend for themselves. Chantelle has to cope with the day-to-day domestic living whilst her brother is influenced and abused by deviant estate gang warfare. Chantelle is easily warmed to. Making money to exist and protect her rebellious brother are paramount. Her risky job as a surveillance worker to a café owner who runs a private investigation business as a side-line is expertly entwined into the narrative. Mother Mary is simply detestable and non-caring with her self-gratification. Anton, an ex-gangland man of authority, is an unlikely but effective saviour. Not Heller's best but still a good read. Full of neighbourhood estate squabbles and fights within a dysfunctional family.

5.0 out of 5 stars Respect 17 April 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
Another cracker from the wonderful author Mandasue Heller. I have enjoyed all of her previous books and this was another brilliant page turner of a read. I got stuck into the plot very quickly and was totally immersed with the goings-on in this gritty tale. I would have finished this book in one go if I had the time rather than grabbing any spare moment I had. Can't wait for the next book.

3.0 out of 5 stars Nothing special 20 Feb 2014
By Tanyaj
Format:Hardcover
I've read all of her books and have really enjoyed them all. Found myself feeling disappointed by the whole book but especially the rushed ending. Would have been better to have had two really good books. I am sure when the book started the main person was 14 but then suddenly became 15 and then finally 16

By Bond007
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I am half through this book and I must say it hasn't got the WOW factor that her other books have.
Normally with her books you cant wait to finish it....but I am afraid I am struggling with this one....please go back
to the style and storylines as in your previous books. I will finish it, as it seems not a bad story hence my ratring
of stars
