Product Description

Americana UK

"A treasure to hold on to" - 10/10.

Album Description

Resonance, the debut album from Devon-based singer-songwriter Nick Saunders is a truly spellbinding collection of songs and an incredible calling card for a new artist. An intuitive acoustic guitarist, Nick uses a variety of alternative tunings to colour his work, resulting in unusual chord voicings and otherworldly sounds and textures.

Wondefully Timeless 18 Dec 2006
Format:Audio CD
I've had the pleasure of seeing Nick Saunders live and indeed have shared a stage with him, so yes I do know him. However, there is no way I would champion this album to the degree I do if I didn't think it was a fantastic record.

Each and every song is crafted, well sung, beautifully played and soulful. There is insight in the warm, nostalgic lyrics that make you feel happy even though the overall feel is melancholic. It is not an album of 'woe is me' tunes, it is heartfelt and endearing. Wondefully timeless, like a Nick Drake record.

Weighing in at half an hour this CD doesn't bore you with meandering whining the way many singer-songwriters can. Instead what you get is an all too brief album of melancholic, beautiful tunes. There are all too few albums which can boast no weak links on the track listing, but this is definitely one of them and Saunders deserves to be discovered by a much wider audience. You won't regret buying this album at all.

Best new singer/songwriter CD of 2006/07 3 April 2008
By RWP - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
Had this CD been released by a major label with the marketing that provides, you would have already seen Nick Saunders at the Grammy Awards and certainly would have heard about him. This is easily the best singer/songwriter CD to be released in years. Nick's lyrics are pure poetry, the melodies are subtle and beautiful and emerge over colorful alternate tunings, his voice is warm and inventive, and there isn't a misstep on the entire CD. Imagine James Taylor singing over more complex and interesting melodies but absent the hokum that James unfortunately engages in from time to time, and you've got the basic idea. If you like acoustic singer/songwriters, this is a MUST PURCHASE. You won't regret it.
