Mr. Corby first made waves as a fresh-faced 16 year old on Australia Idol. Runnerups from the Idol factory often outshine the winners, and this is no exception. He's very much the moody, introspective singer-songwriter that slowly builds a fan base. He has a good, mature voice backed by his acoustic guitar. His music is lyric driven - you're not going to hear big pop ballads or find yourself quickly humming a track.
You're also not likely to find him on the cover of one of his EP's. He was a good-looking boy-band candidate at 16, but he's gone the shaggy, long-haired loner look since. He chose covers like Damien Rice's Blower's Daughter and Coldplay's The Scientist to get through the Idol gristmill, but never considered himself a pop singer. He was very self-assured and independent from the beginning.
This EP is not a bad intro to Mr. Corby, so go ahead - be bold.
