No new mechanics, but lots of variety, and storage for EVERY CARD SO FAR 19 Jan 2012

This is an excellent expansion to the original game(s). I've gotten all the expansions as they came out, and this one is the most varied so far.

This set doesn't introduce any new mechanics (Allies: Partners, Outbreak: Infection), but the cards have a ton of new abilities, and it's a lot of fun to play with the new cards. The theme of this set seems to be "big inventories," with weapons that let you draw more cards when you attack with them, actions that let you draw more cards based on the size of your deck, and one character that lets you stack your entire deck, as long as you keep 10 cards in your discard pile at all times!

The new mansion is great, too. My favorite monsters are a 20 HP monster that heals you by 20 when you kill it, and a 15 HP zombie that gives you +20 gold and +1 buy when you beat him. The boss is the first one that does only 60 damage, so you don't have to worry about getting one-shotted on the first turn. His ability is pretty fun, too - he junks your deck up with a bunch of ammo 10's if you don't kill him.

Anyway, the best part of this set, by far, is the box. It comfortably holds every card that has been released so far, with sleeves, and has pre-printed dividers for every card that has been released (excluding Outbreak, but it came with its own dividers, so we're good). It makes setting up a new game a breeze. No more digging through piles of cards trying to find a speicific action to put on the table, and no more loose cards floating around in poorly designed boxes.

Now, if the next set rolls out with some sort of widget to randomly choose your resource piles, the game would be perfect!

Doesn't add any modes but it still keeps the game interesting 10 July 2012

I had the first two sets of the game which I had quite some fun with. Being a Resident Evil junkie and fan of this game I went ahead and this, the 3rd expansion for the game. The first two expansions were mainly focused around the new mode they brought to the game, but not this one. With no modes to focus on this set just adds some pretty interesting and diverse cards.

PROS: The new Characters are always great(Ada is a beast once you get her to level 2!) There are some interesting characters included, such as Luis Sera, Sergei from the Umbrella Chronicles, and Mysterious Mask AKA Jill Valentine. Being a total Resident Evil nerd I was pretty ecstatic when I saw that the Carlos and Mikhail had their looks from Resident Evil 3. I know some people griped about them being 'ugly and outdated' or whatever, but in no way did they look anything but awesome to me and my playmates :P The weapons are very nice indeed as well as the action cards with most of them being from Resident Evil 4. The mansion is perhaps my favorite part, as the enemies are varied and liven things up. The new Hunter card should bring a new fear into the hearts of those in the lead... mwahaha. The new mansion items and event are good too. ALSO the box can hold ALL the cards from all the expansions released so far even when sleeved with room to spare!

CONS: The biggest one would be that some cards are misspelled and there doesn't seem to be any replacements for them. The mistakes didn't bother me too much because I knew what they were supposed to say(for example, Lonewolf says it has +1 ammo, but since that would makes no sense I know that it SHOULD say +10). Still doesn't make it much better. While there is room for all the cards it may be a little awkward putting them in. It took me a while until I was content with how the cards fit in there. Also, I know that this theme is mainly around Resident Evil 4 so it bothered me that they had Saddler, Mendez, Krauser and yet no Salazar card. They have his right hand men though! On the same vein of that, I am also confused as to why they put Sergei in the this expansion and not Nicholai! I mean, you have Mikhail and Carlos and no Nicholai? Well now I guess i am ranting but I figured it should be mentioned for the sake of mentioning it.

CONCLUSION: Arguably the best of the expansions, this is a must if you love Resident Evil 4, fun, new and diverse cards. Helps if you can forgive some misprints.
