Product Description

Includes:
Zapper Gun

Unlike the evil enemies you fought against in the previous story, in Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles, players will fight against the characters' own inner demons. Two of the most popular characters in the series and heroes of the beloved Resident Evil 2, Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield, will be making their return. Continuing in the survival horror tradition, The Darkside Chronicles will increase the thrills and chills with an enhanced two-player co-op mode where players will be able to follow their partners on the same screen. Their conversations and interactions have also been improved to create a more intense co-op experience. A more terrifying experience than ever before, The Darkside Chronicles combines a shaky and realistic handheld camera experience with an eerie soundtrack and creepy sound effects utilising state-of-the-art technology.

  • Two-Player Co-Op Shooting: Invite friends and family to experience the horror alongside you in two-player co-op mode.
  • Revisit Classic Resident Evil Levels: Experience environments and areas from classic Resident Evil titles such as Raccoon City from Resident Evil 2 and the hidden Umbrella laboratory from Resident Evil: Code Veronica, as well as scenarios that will be all new to The Darkside Chronicles.
  • Fan Favourite Characters Return: Play as Leon S. Kennedy, protagonist of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 4, his partner Claire Redfield, who appeared in Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil: Code Veronica.
  • Customisable Weapons: Players can upgrade and customise their weapons for each battle scenario. Each playable character can be specialised for a specific combat style.
  • Dynamic Difficulty: In addition to the initial settings of Easy, Normal and Hard, the game's difficulty level will adjust automatically based on the player's skill level so that both old and ne

4.0 out of 5 stars Great shooting game 28 Feb. 2010
By Sarah
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
This game has great graphics, tension and surprise attacks from enemies. Unlike the usual strategy/action scenario found in the other games amongst the resident evil series, the storyline is not as strong but this is not a problem for fans of the RE series of games as its nice to see old characters and scenery appear. Two player co-op mode is the best way to defeat enemies as they come thick and fast, the only way to get through it in single player is to master a very accurate head shot to enemies, which provides the expected gore. Overall a great shooting game, no other real skill invlved than be able to aim and shoot at the t.v screen. Not a game for those easily sickened by blood and gore but a satisfying game for those who are not! The wii Zapper is very well made and has a neat cable holder built in but using a wii remote is also fun.

4.0 out of 5 stars A complete package of zombie bustin mayhem! 22 Jan. 2010
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
I got bought this game for chrimbo from my lovely wife, and its the first on the rails shooter I've experienced on the wii. I have to say I'm impressed!

Graphically this game is amazing. Great textures and effects. Seeing Racoon city updated is a blast as well as nostalgic.

A lot of people have gripes as the story is slightly changed. I don't have a problem with this as it keeps everything fresh.

The controls are very good and the zapper is a must have purchase for the Wii. You really do feel like you're pulling the trigger of your characters weapon.

This game also has great replay value, with ratings at the end of all the chapters (that you'll just want to try and beat) and unlockables.

All in all this game is great, plenty of replay value and a pick up and play style make this a winner

5.0 out of 5 stars stick with it - it's a great game 21 Jan. 2012

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
The story starts with Leon Scott Kennedy (former Raccoon City Police Department rookie, now a member of the Presidents Special Operations Command) in the jungles of South America with his new colleague, Special Forces operative, Jack Krauser (pre RE4). They have been sent in search of an Umbrella scientist who is believed to be working for local drug lord Javier Hidalgo. As they travel Leon fills Krauser in on his history with Umbrella, the T-virus and the G-virus (Resident Evil 2); as well as that of his friend Claire Redfield and her run in with the Veronica Virus (Resident Evil: Code Veronica).

This was my first experience of an on-the-rails shooter. I didn't know (understand) what to do; I wasn't in control of the movement in anyway and every time I tried to shoot the camera would move and I would miss. I became frustrated and put it to one side and returned to my favourite - Resident Evil 4 (Wii).

A couple of weeks later I played the game at my sister's house, as a co-op, and found that it was thoroughly enjoyable; she had taken to the on-the-rails game and so had a general idea of what to do - I just followed her lead. The fun that we had playing as a co-op encouraged me to return to the game as a solo player, and this time I understood what to do.

It was initially difficult to hit the zombies with the camera bouncing about ever where, but with a little practice you start getting the hang of it and then the game becomes more interesting, exciting and about survival.

The AI partner, when playing alone, is virtually useless as they rarely shoot at anything, or join in during boss fights.

4.0 out of 5 stars Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles (Wii) 13 Oct. 2010
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
As an arcade enthusiast of the 'House of The Dead' series I was interested to see what RE brought to the table with their take on the first person shooter via the bundled wii 'zapper', and to be honest it's been a lot of fun - sometimes frustrating trying to switch guns or swipe to evade enemy attacks but other than that the game provides the user with a solid storyline to follow and lots of 'shock' moments that make you jump then want to get straight back into the action.

Definitely recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Keeping It Fresh And Great 2 Jan. 2011
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
Being a huge fan of house of the dead games from arcades i enjoyed them on the wii so when i say resident evil joined the club i had to see the picture, i was goin to buy umbrella chronicles but a few reviews said it wasnt worth it so i felt sad to hear to wasnt to bad. but i was fast to have this, as a present from a friend i have barly put it down, i am happy seeing real zombies again (not the crap in resi 4 and 5) but boy how much i love seeing racoon city. the games great with a huge step in graphics this makes the city look so much better, i dont care much for graphics as games usually get ruined to look nice but this looks nice whilst maintaing great shooting fun. some complain about the adjusted story well being fair u couldnt expect the exact resident evils back cuz it wouldnt fit on a disc and dont forget the real games was running bk on forth but this maintains the base story whilst great action
i played for 4days non stop and love it, with the challenge it is alone i do have to invite my brother to help now and then but boy this is worth every penny, honestly one the best purchases i ever made. if u r a on the rails shooter fan or a RE fan you will just sink into a boat of love when your back playing claire redfield :) (or leon i guess but claires my idol ;) )
