This is a clear and concise look at the market research methods that are commonly used, as well as the pitfalls that are often encountered. Sadly many of the examples it presents are based on hypothetical data which, although it gives you and outline does not create as clear a picture of the industry as might be hoped. It is however well referenced with further reading at the end of each section. This is a particularly good book for people with no formal market research background.

This book was the core text to my course module on leisure research methods. It was very easy to read and learn about new methods and terms that I was previously unfamiliar with. I would reccommend this text to individuals approaching research (leisure in particular) for the first time as it was highly informative but may not contain sufficient examples or detail for research 'experts' or thse that have previously investigated research at an earlier stage. Overall though, if you need to learn about this topic and have no previous experience, this is the perfect book to ease you into it.
