My daughter saw this at a friend's birthday party. Her grandmother ordered it for her. What a huge disappointment!!! There were NO puppies included! Imagine her disappointment when she had been looking so forward to this gift. She and her older sisters and cousins thought maybe they had missed something and nearly tore the dog apart looking for the puppies. The box says 2 to 3 puppies included, and there were 2 birth certificates in the box. The customer service rep told me that the company is aware of the problem of the missing puppies, but they only send out ONE puppy per household. I then contacted the email, and told them I felt that solution was unacceptable. They then sent me and email requesting the receipt (it was a gift!) and telling me due to LIMITED SUPPLY they were only sending 1 puppy per household! Limited supply? They aren't putting the puppies in all of the boxes to begin with... how can their supply be limited? It wouldn't be the same anyway, my daughter was looking forward to the surprise of the birth with all of her friends there!

I just bought this toy for my 5 year old daughter. This toy is very similar to "Puppy Surprise" in the early '90s. I love the concept of this toy but ours is defective and does not make any sounds. Despite that, it is a really sweet toy and my daughter can still play with it. Just wish the company fixed their manufacturing problem.

My four year old daughter has actually had two of these dogs. She loved the idea of the puppies being "born" and getting to find out how many there would be. The first one worked well while in the box. There were two puppies. Once we switched the setting from "Try me" to "On" and changed the batteries (following the directions completely), the dog no longer worked. We returned the toy to the store where it was purchased.
She received a second one for Christmas, ordered from Amazon. While in the box, the toy didn't work at all. Once the batteries were changed, the toy works only on the "Try me" function--which is limited to only barking when the paw is pressed. There were three babies this time: two puppies and a kitten!
Overall, the toy is cheaply made and does not work. It's a shame since my daughter really loves it.
