Book Description

“Jared paced, brooded, and once in a while, when his thoughts were particularly tormented, he winced. The color had long left his face as he played back the different scenarios in his mind. Back and forth he paced, so many times that I watched the floor, wondering when he would wear a trail. His inner turmoil could have set the room on fire. It was unbearable to watch, but I couldn't leave him; not when he was planning my death.”

Dreaming of the dead might mean a restless night for anyone, but for Nina Grey it was a warning.

Still healing from her last run-in with Hell, Nina struggles with not only her life as a Brown University student, but also as an intern at Titan Shipping, her father's company. Recurring nightmares about her father's violent death have become a nightly event, but being overwhelmed with guilt from Ryan's unexpected departure to the Armed Forces, and heart ache over Claire being across the ocean to protect him, Nina believes her sleepless nights are the least of her problems—but she's wrong.

Worried about Nina's declining health, Jared must steal back Shax's book for answers. Fighting new enemies, and with the help of new friends, Jared's worst fear comes to fruition. Desperate, he is faced with a choice: Fight Hell alone, or start a war with Heaven.

Requiem is the highly anticipated second installment of the Providence series by breakout author Jamie McGuire. Fans who fell in love with the descriptive prose, delicious suspense, and surprising twists and turns of Providence will not be disappointed as they continue in the journey of star-crossed lovers Jared and Nina.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing book 25 Aug. 2012
    Format:Kindle Edition
OMG, this book was amazing! Usually, middle book in the series is not as good as first or last part. But Requiem definitely does not fall within this cathegory. I loved everything about this book, every single twist, every single moment, every single turn out. And most importantly, I love Jamie McGuire's style of writing. This series are becoming my absolutely most favourite paranoraml stories of all time. I cannot wait to find out what will happen in last part.

Requiem is a little bit different comparing to Providence, but it is equally good. Beginning of the book was depressing, Nina and Jared had to face more problems, more fears, more worries so romantic scenes were put into the background in Requiem. But it was all compensated with plenty of action so I did not have a time to even think about missing some loving scenes.

Beside the neverstoping action ride, book offers deeper insides into the individual characters and into Heaven-Eart-Hell relations. And of course, we got to read some more beautiful words from Jared :)

Well, I could not put this book down. It is really good. All I can do is to recommend it to all paranormal stories lovers - do not hesitate and read this series as soon as possible.

    5.0 out of 5 stars Book 2 Awesome 24 Sept. 2012
    Format:Paperback
Well in this book you learn more about jarred and Nina's life before they found one another. A few new characters are introduced and bring some brilliant reading. I think this book has so much more insight into the charcters and brings them to life. Jarred is such a hunk, everyone should have a guardian angel.Great book and with an ending which insists you nedd to read book 3 Eden x

5.0 out of 5 stars Just as, if not better than Providence 7 Feb. 2012
    By Holly
    Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
    Wow, what a sequel!!

I wasn't sure what to expect from this book, the big issue in Providence had been resolved and so I wondered where this one would go. Requeim has an even bigger issue than the last and the story manages to remain strong throughout (if not stronger)

The humour injections from Providence have carried through into this book along with fantastic character development, Claire and Bex (Jared's brother and sister) take on a bigger role in this book and have become both funny and very likeable big additions from their minor roles in Providence. Nina & Jared's actual relationship (physically not emotionally) has been put to the back somewhat (because they are so preoccupied with what is going on affecting them and their lives) and so the development of other characters is crucial and adds extra interest, especially that of Claire and Ryan.

Hooked from the first page to the last, my only annoyance is that I have to wait for the third installment to be released and can't jump in immediately!! This book has more action than Providence and is very possibly even better, though I also loved Providence. If you have read Providence, then I can't stress enough how much you should read Requiem!!

    5.0 out of 5 stars Great. 18 Feb. 2012
    Format:Kindle Edition
Requiem had a lot more attention to detail, Where as Providence centered around Nina and Jared's relationship in Requiem their relationship took a back seat and you became involved with the task at hand.
Bex Jared's younger brother was a delightful addition to the book and Jamie McGuire's sarcastic wit that I just love still shines through. This book laid the foundations for book 3 but packed loads of twists and turns.
Jamie McGuire is fast becoming one of my favourite authors.

5.0 out of 5 stars Even Better Than The First!! 25 Oct. 2012
    By Telss
    Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I have literally just finished reading this book and I'm on such a high after it! It was all fantastic. I loved the first book and this one was even better! You must read it. I cannot wait for the next one which is in the post as I write this. It's quite a bit shorter than the first one, but it suits it, as the story can't run on for too long otherwise it might drag and be a bit boring. I loved this book.

I loved 'Beautiful Disaster' and I am loving this trilogy! I just can't wait to read what Jamie McQuire writes next! This trilogy would be a perfect film trilogy. I can just picture it now ;)

I love all the relationships in this book. You really get in to the story. I think the humour is great. I think it's good how even after the first book when you know so much about the 'supernatural side', you still keep learning more and more! This book is great. The story gives it real meaning. FANTASTIC! 5 STARS!

    5.0 out of 5 stars Heavenly 18 Nov. 2013
    Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I am totally blown away by the Providence trilogy so far, Book 1 totally amazing and book 2 even better! didnt think it could get better but it proved me wrong, the story intensified with amazing characters and just falling deeper in love with the Ryel family (especially Jarred! I mean who wouldn't! <3) I read most of this book with my hand over my mouth and being scared to find out the next part in case it wasn't what i wanted to happen, it did make me well up a few times i can tell you, I have already started the last book Eden and cant put it down but at the same time not wanting to read too fast so it wont come to an end.... gotta go got a book to read! BUY IT you will LOVE IT
