Product Description

REPLICA is a fast-paced thriller/romance you will find hard to put down.

Beth Chandler, bright, attractive but unassertive, is accidentally replicated in a flawed experiment at the government research institute where she works. A second Beth comes into being, complete with all her memories. To Sir Peter Ellis, MI5 chief, the replica is an embarrassment that must be hushed up and disposed of. Overhearing him, Beth Two goes on the run. With no official existence, homeless, penniless and pursued by Sir Peter's agents, she has to find the inner strength and aggression to survive on icy London streets.

Meanwhile the original Beth, unaware of what has happened, becomes romantically involved with Nick Cavanagh, the spec op she believes is there to protect her. In fact, he's hunting her double. Nick refuses to face his moral doubts about Beth Two - as far as he's concerned, it's not his problem. As events unfold, and the situation grows more complicated, he has to decide whose side he is on.

S. Horrigan, AMAZON VINE TOP 500 REVIEWER, wrote: "Read it! You won't regret it! Another cracking story from Lexi. Don't be put off by the seemingly science fiction based plot. The real story is the way that the two Beths deal with situations that they find themselves in and of their discovery of their real self. As with Lexi's first book, presentation on the Kindle is about as good as it gets.

Overall: This deserves nothing less than 5 stars! An original, very well told intelligent story that had me turning the pages right to the end.

Full length novel: 82,000 words, by the author of REMIX and ICE DIARIES.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gripping- you'll want to read it in one sitting! 15 April 2011

Format:Kindle Edition
Thrillers are not my usually genre, however I enjoyed Lexi's first book Remix so much that I bought this as soon as I heard about it. I agree with all the positive reviews already posted. This book is outstanding, and deserves more than 5 stars in my opinion. It really is gripping- I desperately wanted to read it all in one sitting, but unfortunately when it got to 1am the night I'd started it, I very reluctantly had to turn my light off due to an early start the next day. My only slight criticim is that I wish the final chapter was longer and more detailed- I supsect this is more because I didn't want the story to end and because I was so invested in the characters that I wanted to hear more so it should be taken as a positive really. No matter what your usual tastes are, my advice is buy it and read it asap, but start it early enough in the day because once you start you'll be hooked and won't want to stop until you've reached the very end!!Loved it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Highly recommended 21 April 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Lexi Revellian has many skills as a writer but she has one in particular that appeals to her readers - she creates believable, interesting characters. She also avoids clichéd and stereotypical ones which, to me, is equally important.

The lead character in 'Replica', Beth, (actually there are two of her, hence the title) is seemingly innocent and attractively vulnerable yet, at the same time, we learn, she is a woman who is intelligent, determined and resourceful. In both forms, this character had me feeling an affinity for her and, as a man, wanting to do something to help and protect her. That's a remarkable feat for an author to achieve and is the reason I've given this book my first 5 star rating.

I know well someone who is employed in the British security services, and the way the author deals with this aspect of the plot would indicate that she has carried out some research on the matter (something I've found that few other new authors here on Kindle Books hardly ever bother to do). So, full marks for that too. EDITED to say that I failed to notice the slip-up relating to Beth's entry to Thames House (and which the author reports in her comment to CEEAITCHJAY that she has now corrected) - I was reading in bed and must have been dozing off at that point!

Having said that, the basic premise of the plot requires an extremely elastic imagination. However, once you've got your imagination at full stretch and accepted that premise, the book takes off and is a veritable page turner.

My only criticism (and this also applied to the author's first book, 'Remix') is that the ending was, for me, a little too short and sudden.

From a technical standpoint, the attention to formatting, spelling and grammar, and also geographical accuracy, is impeccable, with the result that the book exudes professionalism.

As I said in my title for this review... Highly Recommended!

I have a real soft spot for Lexi Revellian's first book Remix as it was the first book I read on my kindle. I was therefore delighted to find her latest novel had been released.

Replica is a fast-moving thriller that kept me interested and wanting to find out what happened next. Lexi's writing is wonderful and as good as anything being published by mainstream publishers.

The particularly interesting aspect of this book for me were the two Beth's characters. Lexi made each Beth come alive and, although they were clearly the same person, she wrote them in such a way that you felt for them both and could easily identify which Beth was which by slight differences in behaviour caused by the different circumstances they found themselves in.

Easily as good as Remix, Replica is a gem and Lexi Revellian is a real talent.
