Ordered as a replacement for a Wilkinson Garden Fork (Digging, not Border). Wilkinson is a very popular brand so for Tech Tools to suggest their replacement handle fits all and to find out it does not in this case is something of a mystery. Can't be bothered to send it back given the low cost, but be aware of the potential for disappointment with this product.

These D handles are NOT one-size fits all..If you have a 30-32mm handle- tough. If it doesn't fit and the cost of the item is LESS than the cost of return postage the buyer will simply BIN it.. therefore EVERY handle is a sale

Some while back, I bought a drain spade (from Toolstation). I heaved down hard backwards on the spade - as you do when digging a channel. The handle broke off and I thought myself lucky not to have been hurt by the metal spade handle. Toolstation replaced it promptly, and I used the new one much more circumspectly. Recently, I tortured the old spade in a vice to make it dig very narrow channels, and bought this to re-handle it. I cannot be sure, but this handle looks just like the original. So my advice is to avoid too much perpendicular force, particularly if fitted to a metal implement.

This is a sturdy handle, but unfortunately it didn't fit our spade. You need to check the diameter do the base.

This was a cheap, but effective, way of repairing a broken spade. Good price, delivered quickly, easy to fit. What more can you ask for.

Bore is tapered with no weakening holes for a rivet, so I used wood glue and matched the shaft end of the spade to the taper. Works fine.

broke the handle on my third favourite spade so decided I wouldnt bother with re shafting it. By the time I had levelled the shaft this needed a lot of whittling before it would fit the handle and there is only room for 4cms to go in. I screwed it up and have used it moderately forcefully and it is still intact.
