I have this 7800 battery AND also the lower rated
"Replacement Extended Battery 6800mAh for Acer Aspire One" both purchased from SuperGPS. There is some overlap in this review, as I have also posted one up for the other battery.
Both are made by Cameron Sino, a Chinese company which appears to produce batteries for well known companies when investigated.
The warentee on the Cameron Sino/SuperGPS batteries is a full year, Acers own website only offer a 6 month warentee on batteries sourced direct from them. To me that says a lot about build quality. Actually I have seen one of Acers badged batteries from thier website shop and that was made in China, not Japan as the orig equipment battery was.
The Cameron Sino 6600 battery is a shade smaller than the 7800 mostly I think due to the casing design, which is curvy on the 6600 and square on the 7800, but the weights are pretty much the same and not worth taking into consideration when choosing which battery to buy. The 6600 is shallower vertically, so there is not as much slope increase to the keyboard as you get with the 7800. The 7800 has rubber feet which are nice and grippy, so the netbook does not slide about the table suface. Both batteries fit well into the netbook.
The low power consumption my WinXP hard drive Aspire rates the 7800 as holding around 9 hours run time. You loose about a third to a half of this time if you are running a mobile broadband stick, due to the high power drain.
Both batteries recharge very quickly 3 - 4 hours from flat, which considering the run time is very good.
So far I have been very happy with both of my Cameron Sino / SuperGPS batteries and am happy to recommend both the batteries and the company.

Compared to the standard battery, this long life battery is obviously bigger and heavier.
But, the pc does not take up any more space in my briefcase. the 10deg elevation of the keyboard is actually very comfortable.
I can confirm the excellent lifetime - even with my T-mobile 3G data stick powered up, it still lasts more than 6 hours!
Unless you REALLY have to squeeze this netbook into your back pocket, I recommend this battery wholeheartedly.

This battery - it's big. It's very very big. It's like, big. Okay, so that's the downside of this battery out of the way, let's concentrate on the upsides. This is a third-party battery that fits nicely on the back of an AA1, lifting the unit at a 10 degree angle. You can't see that from the Amazon picture but hopefully the picture I've added will be up soon and it shows the size of this battery. As for usage, it took 4 hours to charge from flat to full, and with my AA1 (XP, 1GB, 160GB HD) running with the screen on @ 70% brightness (and not switching off), HD not powering down & in use 50% of the time, CPU running at 50%, wlan on and in use, it lasted 6 hours. That's amazing. With the screen switching off after 5 mins, and HD powering down after 10, the CPU at rest & wlan on, it lasted just over 10 hours.

acer battery
