This charger might be cheap but you dont even get what youve payed for.

1 It weights ony half as much as the original dell charger and felt terribly light and flimsy, and if you know anything about chargers youll know they are just coils of copper wire raped round a magnet/s. thus a lighter charger = fewer coils = less power = shorter lifspan/worst performance. I guessed all this before ide even plugged the thing in.

2 As soon as I turned on by laptop for the 1st time the laptop bios popped up warning me that the charger ide just connected was only 65watts and not the required 90watts (the seller claims) supplied by the original charger it was shipped with. So your not getting what youve paid for from the seller because 65watts is not 90 watts According to the laptop itself.

3 The bios also suggested that laptop performace would suffer if I continued to boot up with the 65watt charger, and I thought it was exagerating until it eventually booted up having taken twice as long as before.

4 This is the third time Ive had to write this review because the laptop keeps on freezing. Interestingly enough The last time i bought a replacment adapter for my inspiron I bought 2 originals (and still 1 left) and once I connected the remaining original charger the laptop worked perfectly as before which tells me that this imitation charger is definately not up to the job.

be warned..

Other than all of the above its fine (for cracking monkey nuts that is)

This is not the original charger from Dell as it has a 2 pin power lead connector whilst the original has 3. Also, there is a circle on the top of the original charger which has 'DELL' inscribed on it whereas the circle on this charger has been left blank.
However this charger does the job, and for the price, you would not be expecting an original anyway.

I was a bit sceptical at first, cos I had previously bought one of these chargers from ebay (same blank circle on top, 2 pin connector etc), and that charger worked for a while, but then affected my mouse pad so that the mouse would not move freely, and when I moved it to a particular spot (say the button/cross on the top right corner to close a page) the mouse pointer would keep shaking and quivering so that sometimes by the time I clicked, it would have have moved to one of the other buttons (eg the minimise button).

I only received this charger yesterday, but it does not cause any of the problems mentioned above that I had with my previous charger. I will post an update if it starts to mess around, but for now, it's 5 stars for doing the job it is supposed to be doing!!

Update on 12 May 2011
Charger is still working without any issues (almost 2 months on), so the 5 star rating remains.

The product is great and arrived very promptly. Just to say though that my previous one had a power lead with three pins into the adaptor whereas this had two. No problem for me becasue I had another power lead with two pins that worked but you might want to check this when buying such a product.

I purchased this product for the second time, as the first one unfortunately got broken. However, I was pleased with the quality so immediately ordered another identical item. The charger that got delivered to me this second time is of terrible quality, as it badly affects the ordinary functions of my laptop - the mousepad in particular does not work whilst the laptop is plugged into this charger. The battery life of my laptop is not very long, so I have to plug it into the mains frequently, but this charger inhibits what I am able to do during that time. Not impressed.

I bought this in May 2011 to replace my original Dell adapter for my Inspiron 9300 and it's still going strong. I was pleasantly surprised to find it came with a figure of eight power cable included, so it may be worth checking with the seller first before you buy one to see if yours will ship with one too.

The adapter I received is manufactured by Sumvision.

the item shown on the page was ordered and the item delivered was a (PA12) the online help was very good it was sent back and the PA10 was re-ordered with delivery the next day at no extra charge, great. When the next replacement arrived it was again incorrect and was returned again. I am awaiting the outcome of investigation into how this happened. :-(

The adapter works well and was cheaper than most others I looked at. There was a mix up over the order to begin with but the vendors sorted it quickly and without any fuss. I am very pleased with my purchase and would buy from the vendor again.

I bought this for my mothers laptop to replace her broken one. I noticed she had yet another one when I visited some time later and she said it didn't work for very long. Proof I suppose that cheaper is not better. Lesson learned!
