Was going to the Dominican Republic and EVERYONE mentioned being bitten. Wouldn't say I particularly suffer with bites and stings abroad but always get a few. Decided I'd look for a repellent containing more Deet than usually found at Boots. Had a quick look on Amazon and came across this product. Had initially checked out Repel 100, but this is real heavy duty stuff more suitable to backpacking in a jungle and there were a few warnings about melting nail varnish and taking the colour off shoes. Decided to try Repel 55, which turned out to be perfect. Says that one 120ml bottle will last 4 weeks. Used it generously every night for 2 weeks and had plenty left. Expected to be suffocated by strong chemical smell (which I would have put up with if successful) but was surprised to find there was barely an odour. Huge success with this product. Didn't get bitten once, despite spotting mosquitos in the room and spending most evenings sitting out at dusk and evenings dining by the beach. My fellow travellers did get bitten, so began to borrow my Repel 55 and also became bite free. Would highly recommend this product.

Took this little gem to Indonesia, stayed a month, did not receive one bite! This is as indispensible as your passport. It does exactly what it says etc.

The mozzys love me, they really do. I used this traveling in Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam and found it very effective. If the mozzys love you like they love me, if you miss a bit or don't put it on all over every night, they will still bite.
I did get some bites which I think were predominately sand flies, but all in all very happy with the product.
It's a bit greasy - but all strong insect repellents are. I didn't find it any more smelly and choking than the 50% deet versions I have used before (Boots) etc.
Recommend.

Couldn't live without this

very good product. not as strong as deet 100. but strong enough to scare most of moscitos. can definitely recommend it for malaria regions.

Who knows? I was already gone when it arrived...
