Product Description

It is two years since the events of ‘Exiles, Book One of the Progenitor Trilogy’.

Humiliated by defeat, the K’Soth Empire has finally collapsed into civil war amongst the noble houses and now the Commonwealth stands victorious over its old enemy. Vast swathes of territory have been liberated from the alien oppressors and humanity struggles with the post-war burden of restoring order and rebuilding.

But another war is being fought in the shadows. Admiral Michelle Chen, heroine of the war against the Empire, has been recruited into Special Operations Command, a black ops outfit dedicated to intelligence gathering and covert warfare against the ancient, malevolent race known only as the Shapers.

No-one has seen the Shapers and lived to tell about it. No-one except Caleb Isaacs, wayward freighter captain and washed up former navy pilot, who has just slipped through Chen’s fingers.

Meanwhile, archaeologists Katherine O’Reilly and Rekkid Cor journey to the distant Hadar system, on the frontiers of human space, where the Commonwealth Navy have uncovered an ancient ship of unknown origin which, if rumour is to be believed, is killing the men sent to excavate it.

The Arkari watch and wait. Deep in the galactic core, the Shapers are moving.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dont judge a book by its price 29 May 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
Like several others I came across this series while trolling through the SciFi section.
Interesting characters in a well developed world/galaxy.
In short its a great read, easily comparable with the quality of professionally published works.
Fantastic value for money. The third book deserves a higher price point.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Read 17 May 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
Really enjoyed this, quite a long book although it didn't seem as long as the first in the series, like the other review said it ends on a cliff hanger which means I can't wait for the third book. Plenty of twists and turns and all the characters from the first book are there. If you enjoyed the first book in the series then I highly recommend this one.

My only complaint is the same as another review and that's the number of typo's.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic 19 May 2011

This is a really interesting read. The author has developed an ongoing storyline that brings together some fantastic ideas, There are some diverse species and the tale has a very mature perspective of good and evil, where even the goodies have ruthless streaks, and the evil race of aliens are remorseless. The characters are well developed, and overall I found the book hard to put down, despite being quite long. Again, as with the first book there are some formatting errors, but this did not detract from it being an enjoyable read, and well worth the price. I eagerly await the last of the trilogy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hugely entertaining read 13 Sep 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I enjoyed Renegades enormously - even more than exiles. It is a real page turner with a well thought out plot. Both books would benefit from a good edit to polish some of the language but the story telling is so good that I really didn't care that the occasional word appeared to have been misplaced. I guess some people read to bathe in the beauty of the language itself, and they may not find this book to their taste but for me the story is the most important thing and Worth delivers a fast paced and engrossing tale that keeps you hooked until the end. Please hurry up with the third book!!

5.0 out of 5 stars A must read. 13 May 2011
By R. Neal
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Ive tried to read a few books lately but none have managed to keep me interested beyond the second chapter and I only came across this one by chance when browsing the kindle store and I have been pleasantly surprised as with this series i`ve been hooked from the start. The writer manages to get the right balance between waffling and getting on with the story, far too many books spend more time describing things than actually telling the tale. Each part of the story manages to get to the point quickly so theres no really boring sections, it all seems to flow nicely. I also read another review elsewhere saying that they were disappointed in the fact that the aliens all behaved like humans which is a valid point as the aliens in this book cant really be distinguished, but at the end of the day this is sci-fi, until we actually meet aliens then we will never know and it kinda makes a nice change compared to other books of this genre. The whole plot is also really good, it has some nice twists, I would have liked it to be longer but then I feel this way about any enjoyable book so its hardly a criticism.
The only criticism I can find are the typos however im not convinced this is a problem with the author, more likely the publishers when converting to E-book. Several E-books ive read recently had similar issues. The typos werent frequent enough to spoil the story though but there were a few.

A must read for any sci-fi fan. I cant wait for the conclusion and I would love to see other books set in the same universe.

4.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable book - sloppy editing
An enjoyable book and sequel which is slightly marred but some jarring Americanisms that are very out of place in a book written in British English.
