4.0 out of 5 stars Not for younger readers 16 Jun 2014

I really enjoyed this story and thought the characters felt true to the original Star Wars movies. Still, there was quite a bit of torture hinted at that made me uncomfortable. Amazon has it listed as being for readers aged 8-12. I would stick with the older end of that spectrum as this would have given my 8-year-old nightmares.

I had read that this series was not considered part of the star wars saga but it does have parts that has been referred to in other books and helps to understand certain things mentioned in future books.

Kinda enjoying these short stories with the original characters. Other than Luke getting out of character bragging and lying to his friends, this was the best one yet.

Saw Star Wars for the first time in 1977....I was 7 years old and nothing compared nor does it to this day. The new (episodes 1 2 and 3) were nice, but being older, the magic was not there. Still loved 'em, but not the same. These new books, when Han Luke and Leia were still old times. I love these books. The later years are also good...if your a fan, just get 'em all. It's nice not to have to "grow up" when you read these. Kinda like being 7 all over again....and that's enough for me.

3.0 out of 5 stars Three Stars - spoilers follow 1 Jun 2009

Another great installment of Rebel Force. An attempt on Luke's life leads him and Leia to leave Yavin Four to keep him safe when it comes clear someone among the Rebels is the one who tried to kill him. They travel to Tatooine where Luke meets up with old friends, visits old homes and finds a little trouble. It was an awsome book except Han is immediately suspected of trying to kill Luke. That's right Han. Even though the ending is really good I still don't understand how anyone would think Han would try to kill Luke.
