The Nigel Dawson mix (2nd cd) on this double cd is probably the best medium-to-light trance/epic house mix from the time when progressive sound was lush and embellished.

The mix kicks off with Miro's Paradise and then builds pace smoothly, maintaining the dancey tempo and taking the listener into Dawson's world of emotional music and beautiful sounds. Although by today's standard's a lighter shade of trance/epic/progressive house, this remains an essential purchase because of the fact that it is the best of it's kind. (The first time I heard Human Movement's Vidapura, I nearly cried and it still kills me now.) Excellent cd to warm a party up with.

In comparison, Ossia's mix tends to pale somewhat due to 3 or 4 good-but-obvious song choices. As such, it fails to distinguish itself from the crowd enough to warrant any kind of longevity. A little nervous and safe but worth a listen or two.

That said, the whole pack deserves 5 stars. Any self-respecting proggy/trancer should have this album.

The type of dance music this protrays is the difference between the late 90's essential mixes late on radio 1 and the music scene in the clubs also of that time.
I would consider this CD a classic.
It is recorded well. There is a very smooth transition between mixes and both CDs' compliment each other. Would like to hear more from these DJs so I'd consider this a rarity. If your after something in your collection, not commercial, alternative and a symbol of those all night parties in the 90's of general listenable quality find this one because it is as good as Renaissance Worldwide London which is also a must have.

This is a CD of pure quality... the Renaissance lads take you on a journey, building and moulding the mix with style. Of the two the Nigel Dawson mix is probably slightly stronger but the Ian Ossia mix would stand out in any other compilation. This is one of the top progressive compilations around - it'll rapidly attain most played status in your collection should you choose to buy it!!!
