Product Description

Amazon.co.uk Review

On first inspection you could be forgiven for thinking this was just a chill-out album, as Dave Seaman seems to be returning to the area he explored on his Back To Mine pick 'n' mix selection. However, slowly and insidiously the tempo picks up and you find yourself in a deep house/trance paradise, a paradise of gently pulsing and utterly compelling beats. This isn't full-on in-yer-face pounding trance of the kind peddled by the likes of ATB and Ferry Corsten; Dave Seaman's selection represents a softer, far more pleasant option that comes courtesy of Kinesis and BT, both of whom feature here in all their glory. The second CD is a bit more up-tempo than the first--but both are equally beguiling in their mixture of beats and wooshes. All that remains for you to decide is whether to nod or to dance. The choice is yours. --Helen Marquis

I have most of the Renaissance box sets (expect for Vol3 where it all went a bit Pete Tong) and reguarly buy the Global Underground comps, and I have to say, this is the best house/trance comp I've seen for the last couple of years. Fantastic mixing with inspired track choices have put this right at the top of my collection.

5.0 out of 5 stars A fluid technical collection, 7 May 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Renaissance Presents Awakening Dave Seaman (Audio CD)
Dave Seaman has created a blend of progressive tunes that is unique and sophisticated. The music continuously innovates and demonstrates a depth of quality and as such, almost takes the listener on a journey. Though the trance is not as hard as Matt Darey, it is epic and more cultured. A versatile compilation.
