4.0 out of 5 stars Sand on the Dancefloor, 29 Nov 2009

B. PRINCE "Sound King" (Portsmouth, England) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Renaissance of Arabic Cla (Audio CD)
Yes, the title seemed odd, it should read 'Clubbers' not 'Dubbers'. Why didn't I guess that? Its a little dated, produced for the Arab market in 2003, and leans more toward the trance/house sound, but nevertheless some nice percussion and North African vibes which will appeal to those for whom Bellydance is the New Salsa. As with many albums, listening all the way through can lead to a feeling of slight diappointment, but there's some nice sounds here to slot between other tracks to give a dance mix a different flavour. Unlikely this was intended to convert arabs to the western disco sound, as it has english sleeve notes. A couple of the tracks crop up again on the rather pleasant 'Bellylicious' series, which gives you a clue...
