I wasn't holding out much hope when I bought this item, but I was willing to try anything. My cocker spaniel is such a scatterbrain that as soon as he sees another dog 200 yards away, or a cat, or anything else that takes his fancy, he is off! Calling, shouting and running after him have proved useless. This collar has excelled all expectations. I used the beep as a warning if he strayed, and had to use the zapper on him only twice to break his train of thought, calling "Come here!" each time. Turns out he is a fast learner! After only a few days use, if he starts to wander now, I just hit the beeper on his collar and issue the command, and he does a complete turn around and comes back. I reinforce the positive return with one of his favourite treats. So far, I am very pleased with this purchase. It's like having a different dog! :-)

I had high hopes for this collar while appreciating it was inexpensive. It is disappointing that the remote switches off completely without warning, sometimes quite quickley so you have to remove the collar, take out the batteries from both parts and reset the whole thing.
However with only one training session in a secure area my large dog, who will leg it a the first oppertunity got the message, I only use the vibrate setting! Rarely do I actually need to press the button, as long as he is wearing the collar he reponds instantly, whereas before he would simply be gone. This is still the case if the collar is off.
I can now let him out for a pee in the rain (collar on) and rest assured he comes in when he is done.
I dont think I will rely on it for walks in the woods yet, although did manage a short walk off lead using collar and he responded to my voice, I didnt let him go too far before calling him back as I am unsure how reponsive he would be if he really got going!

I have tried everything to get my German Shepherd to walk to heal, been to classes, train the trainer classes, countless collars and harnesses, sound commands, growls, barks, deep voices, amongst the normal treats. Absolutely nothing makes him walk properly, just pulls all of the time.

The other problem I have had with the dog is a sudden tendancy to scarper off at a moments notice, when a rabbit jumps out in front of him or he hears another dog around a blind corner, sometimes a swift shout would halt his run but not always leading to some uncomfortable encounters with other walkers who always assume a shepherd is a nasty dog - this may happen in the middle of nowhere on our daily walks so cannot be preempted all of the time.

This product surpassed all expectations and has delivered results that have not been acheived in two years of going to training classes etc. I wanted to break the cycle of the run offs, and sure enough next walk he had started pounding towards another walker, I used the collar and shouted 'Come' immediatly he stopped, turned and came back. he needed one more rehersal and now a few days later he comes back for praise with no use of the collar, no more running off and as a bonus when a rabbbit jumps up I tell him its ok and he will chase that for a bit, as soon as I call him back he comes, almost saintly amazing.

The lead walking was delt with on the first walk, as soon as he reached the end of the lead for his normal 'pull' a used the collar, straight away he came back off the end and walked next to me for praise, now when he is next to me he gets praise, the lead walk has turned from a chore into a pleasure for both me and the Shepherd. It just took three uses.

Within one week he is now also walking to perfect heal without the lead without even trying to run off or get in front or lag behind. all he ever gets is praise. He now performs these commands like all the others that he has know for a long time and performs perfectly.

This collar has literally changed my dogs life, he has always been perfect in the garden and around the home as well as without disterbance on walks or being on the lead, now he is quite literally perfect.

My thanks go to this product at such an amazing price and so much better than the many hundreds shelled out for things like gentle leaders and such, within a week, no need for anything other than his normal collar and lead. Amazing. Although I still keep this electro collar on for peace of mind I have not hat to use it since the start, my commands now work perfectly.
