    Does a good job 10 Jan 2007
I spent a good couple of hours going round in circles looking for a decent clipper. So many conflicting reviews to read and such a broad price range of competing products! In the end I went for this one.

Although this is one of the more expensive models, I figured that it has to be better than the really cheap and cheerful ones. The build quality certainly suggests that was the right move. It's a well made product, quite light, but with a strong plastic body that doesn't flex and buttons and connectors that click very positively.

The other reason I went for this one was that is uses the traditional changable combs for different "grades." I wasn't convinced by those models with clever length adjustment widgets and other such gimmicks. This has a set of combs that slip on and off the clipper body, just like the professional one my barber uses. Combs struck me as familiar, easy to use and reliable, plus you can take them off and use the bare clipper on "grade 0" to get the fluff off your neck.

My hair is fine and thinning (sigh!) and I'd normally have a grade 4 on top and a 2 at the sides and back from the barber shop. That's what I wanted from this clipper, and it does a fine job. Actually my girlfriend does the job for me, although I'd probably be able to manage myself if necessary. The cut is even, neat and tidy. First time round involved sometime of a learning curve, but it was still a perfectly respectable job. Second time round produced a cut that was as good as the barber.

I can't think of anything bad to say about this product, so I've given it 5 stars. Definitely recommended.

I bought this product after having a rather tragic experience with the

Philips QG3080. This hair clipper however oozes quality the minute you remove it from the box!

Firstly the build quality is superb - nice and sturdy and a comfortable size (not too small). Second is the width of the shaving head; this is quite wide so for those opting for a minimal look (like me!), you can get the job done quickly! Lastly is how smooth the blades actually are - no chunks of hair (like the QG3080), just a nice, smooth cut. The clipper also comes with the usual accessories (instructions, guards, shoulder cloth etc). Also another impressive point is that the unit can be run from the battery/or from mains power, which is excellent and extremely useful (you don't have to charge it up before finishing your cut if the battery dies half-way through!).

So if it's true about the blades not needing sharpening (and time will tell) then I can't imagine there's a better device for the money.

    Quick Reviews! 30 Jun 2008
    By carlosnightman VINE™ VOICE
How much does a hair cut for a man cost these days? Now I'm not talking about one of those fancy hundred pound, have a coffee while you wait, must be seen on Big Brother hair jobs. I mean a simple, once a month shave and trim at the local barbers. 5 pounds? 10 if you're really pushing the boat out? Well, here is the solution. With the HC363C you can save bucket loads, and save making idle chit chat about holidays and work by cutting your own hair in the privacy of your own home. With the curtains drawn if you wish.

I like to keep my hair at a pretty uniform length, almost so that it looks like at never gets any longer or shorter. As i have quite bushy hair, this prevents the hassle of trying to control it when it gets long. Therefore I cut my hair once a fortnight. That's at least 24 haircuts a year, for a price of 17 pounds- saving at least 40 quid if you usually get it cut once a month. I cut my own hair, you can clean it and then let your brother use it, let your dad have a go, sort the kids with it, and even scare your wife/sister/mum. The only problem is trying to stop yourself chase the local kids around the streets with it.

Seriously though, aside from saving a lot of money, this provides a good, clean cut, although if you're doing it yoursel if takes a few practice goes to get good, to get a technique which suits you. The blades are strong and sharp, cutting out the need to keep going over the same patch of hair. For a normal sized headed person like me, a cut usually takes less than 10 minutes. As well as this, the blades are ominously 'lubed for life' which means that you don't have to fork out for special gels or liquids to keep the blades moving. Indeed, that is one of the best features of this package- that it contains all the peripherals you will ever need inside a handy, classy case. Once you buy this, you won't need anything else, and as Remington are reliable you can sure these won't break down anytime soon. You get scissors which aren't too sharp, and can be fiddly tring to get that annoying tuft behind your ear, and a neat little brush to clean the hairs from the blades and from around your neck. Naturally there are different sizes of heads to facilitate any length of cut, from 'I want to be a hippy', to 'Skinhead's Paradise'.

This set can also be used cordlessly, which is a definite plus as it stops the wire flapping about your face and takes away the temptation to bite it mid-cut. I have not had any problems with pulling, as sometimes clippers can feel like your hair is being pulled out one by one. Not with these, though sometimes a rare 'bad' pair may sneak onto the shelves.

All in all, this is one of the best sets on the market for this price. It cuts well, and in whichever style you want it to (considering your ability as a cutter) . It is cheap, reliable, looks stylish, comes in a great box which stores all the attachments, anc can be stored easily itself. It comes with everything you need for a full hairdressing experience apart from a 15 year old sweeping hairs in the background and chewing bubblegum. Perfect.
