A very interesting glimpse into a bygone age. Although I've never met the author, we are related as my great grandmother was also born and brought up at Torran. This probably makes my view a bit biased. Having been to Raasay on various occasions and also made the trip to Torran, it was fascinating to read about someone's life there and be able to see in your mind's eye all the places he describes.
Worthwhile reading for anyone interested in learning about life on the Scottish islands in the early part of the 20th century.
