Product Description

At twenty-six, Rachel's got a beautiful flat, an outstanding career, the man of her dreams - and life's only getting better. But even those closest to her don't know how much she's overcome to get where she is now. She's never told anyone what happened to almost destroy her life. But she still remembers a long, hot summer fifteen years ago, that sent her into a spiral of self-destruction. A summer filled with secrets known to only one other person - her childhood best friend and now worst enemy, Sophie Townsend. When Sophie comes back into her life unexpectedly, everything starts to slip. And long-hidden events from the past threaten to destroy all Rachel's struggled to achieve... Sarah Diamond details her characters with surgical precision and races to a devastating climax, in a novel that's impossible to put down.

5.0 out of 5 stars Chilling and Compelling Psychological Thriller, 14 April 2004
By Veronica - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Remember Me (Hardcover)
Remember Me is a chilling and compelling psychological thriller. The novel centres around Rachel Carter, a successful woman who works in a London advertising agency, lives with her carefree boyfriend Andrew, and generally appears to be content and in control. However, behind the glossy image of her life lies the terrible truth about what happened to her when she was younger and living in the small town of Underlyme in Dorset, England. When Sophie, her best friend from those days, comes to live in London they have an unexpected meeting and Rachel's control starts to disintegrate. Soon she soon finds her life - and her grip on reality - falling apart.

I really enjoyed this book, from the believable and interesting plot to the range of diverse characters. I felt a lot of sympathy for Rachel and liked the way her demise had an inevitable feel about it. I raced through the pages and really enjoyed the dialogue and language used. I particularly liked the author's writing style, using plenty of original metaphors to make the writing more engrossing.

Overall Remember Me is a great thriller which I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to others. It is a very good example of a novel set around a seemingly `confident' person who is really anything but. The novel's ending is worth waiting for as it is shocking and quite different from the way most books of this type end. All in all an entertaining and thrilling read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Found a Gem of a Writer in Diamond, 24 Oct 2004

This review is from: Remember Me (Hardcover)
This is a sensational novel that has you wondering if innocence or evil will prevail until the last pages and I'm not giving away which one does. I will definitely be reading other novels by this talented author.

Twenty six year old Rachel is living with her boyfriend, has just been promoted and thinks she has it all. Her boyfriend is becoming frustrated that she will not open up to him about things that are obviously troubling her or tell him anything about her past. Sophie frustrated and bored with her life in the small town of Underlyme, Dorset moves to London and the suburb of Camden in the hope of getting a great job with exciting career prospects. Rachel and Sophie are cousins and were best friends as kids but now Rachel hates her and has a new life where she does not want her secrets from the past to be known to those in her present world. A chance encounter in a coffee shop threatens to bring Rachel's past back to haunt her and she will do whatever she can to ensure she has vengeance against Sophie and protects her current world.

Sensational thriller! Just buy it!
