Product Description

Britain's history is a sweeping saga of blood, death, love, sex and betrayal, peopled by a cast of extraordinary characters. Yet, when it comes down to it, there are only around 150 key things we really need to know that have shaped the story of these islands.

Whether it's the Battle of Hastings or Henry VIII, the English Civil War or the Blitz, Remember, Remember, is a history of Britain in bite-sized chunks, containing all the important dates, people and events - but without the boring bits.

What a great, fun and manageable way to remember the most salient points of British history that we've all forgotten from school. It takes all the boring bits out and covers history from Roman Britain to the second world war. It's easy to dip in and out of and the perfect accompaniment to the brilliant I Before E that I bought last year. This book makes history fun!

Worth getting! 19 Jan 2009
Format:Hardcover
I was really impressed with this book. It's nice and easy to read and covers the important parts of History worth knowing about. I was very impressed when I saw it included events like the Amritsar Massacre, although not something that is widely known, it shows the important turning point in the Indians attitude towards the British Raj - something which people should come to know about! Definitely worth getting as it's easy to dip in and out of!

I'm hoping to go to University in September to study History, and i wanted a book that would cover British history (as that is my particular interest) yet i did not want a history book that would take me ages to read. I'm very glad i found this book, it covers everything right from the Roman era to WW2. I would thoroughly recommend this to anyone who has a keen interest in British history. It is a quick read but very informative at the same time.

History Without the Flim-Flam
Hi,
The title Remember Remember is a little bit misleading, as I thought it was going to be a book of history mnemonics. Read more

Surprisingly compulsive and rewarding
I read quite a lot of history books which specialise in certain areas, but still appreciate books which aim to provide a brief over-view of events. Read more

Great book, but why the American spelling!?
This book is a great concept, and enjoyable to pick up and read. However as a book on Britian, the spelling of words with a 'z' instead of an 's' is quite annoying.
