Book Description

23 May 2006

John Meron, a happily married father of two who’s never been in trouble, receives a phone call that will change his life for ever: his friend Jack Calley, a high-flying City lawyer, is screaming down the phone for help. As Meron listens, Calley is murdered. His last words, spoken to his killer, are the first two lines of Meron’s address.

Confused and terrified, Meron scoops up his children and hurries out of the house. Just in time. Within minutes, a car pulls up outside, and three men get out. It’s clear that they’re coming for him. He’s being hunted and has no idea why.

And with his wife missing, an unidentified corpse in her office, and the police after him for murder, his life’s about to get one hell of a lot worse.

4.0 out of 5 stars A very enjoyable read. 31 Oct 2007
Format:Mass Market Paperback
This is the first book of Simon Kernick's I have read, but won't be the last. To begin with, I didn't enjoy the 1st person narrative right at the start of the book, but I have to say that once I overcame that, I enjoyed reading the story.

It is quick paced, interesting and convincing - the characters are believable, although I believe there is one glaring mistake in the plot - but I won't ruin it for you.

If you enjoy crime solving novels and don't want anything heavy, this is probably for you.

1.0 out of 5 stars Relentless 10 Dec 2012
Format:Mass Market Paperback
Hard to see how anyone could give this book 5 stars as there is absolutely no character development the hero escapes from totally unbelivable situations which James Bond would consider unrealastic.

However, if you want a mindless adventure novel this is for you. Probably make a great Jason Statham film.

4.0 out of 5 stars A cracking read 7 Aug 2007

What do you do when you answer the phone and hear your best friend being murdered? not only that, but he has just told his killers where you live.

This is a tale which grabs you by the throat from start to finish and doesn't let up until the end. In that sense it is "relentless", as you won't be able to put it down until you know what has happened. It took me a day to read this, so hooked was I by it. Excellent holiday reading- enjoy!
