I think all women who have had a baby will identify with the author of this book as she struggles to adjust to life before and after childbirth. The loss of professional identity certainly struck a chord. The descriptions of the emotions and experiences were spot on. The coping mechanisms and her changes in perspective were also insightful and eloquently expressed. An excellent book !

I really enjoyed this short book which takes one through the early years of Motherhood in a dream-like way. I found it very easy to identify with the author and her experiences as she stopped being professional woman and became professional woman who has a baby. Written in a diary note form, it cleverly describes life 'before baby' then leads the reader through the trials and difficulties of everyday living once the baby has arrived. The book made me laugh out loud in places, but also had more serious moments describing the effect of sleep deprivation on mood and relationships. I put it down wanting to read more.

An easy read for any new parent, at times informative, funny but had me in tears at the end. Any working professional mum will identify with the prejudices from work colleagues and the real battle to overcome these to regain your previous status. The inability to be heard + helped for fear of being deemed to not to be doing the best for our newborns is covered + again more prejudices highlighted. Well done for speaking out!Relentless
