Mitchell Anderson leads a great ensemble cast in this story of a gay man who after a second hate crime leaves his colorful cast of friends to find himself. While Mitchell is wonderful it's the rest of the cast including Jennifer Tilly and Lorie Petty who STEAL the show. The speech given by Lorie's girlfriend in the movie was one of the most heartfelt scenes I've ever witnessed in a movie. It's worth the price of the DVD itself. At it's heart it's a comedy with dramatic elements. Definitely a must have

The opening "educational" feature is hilarious and raises the bar way up there in an expectation that never droops during this wonderfully spikey original film that looks at personal relationships about the same time that Shortbus was doing the same.
It is about time that we all got real about the wide diversity of human sexual relationships and kicked out that ostrich position (unless used as a part of foreplay!) the players here are all brilliant and the writers sidestep the too obvious stereotypes; the turning on its head "gay-bashing" sequence is particularly relevent.
A good one to enjoy with your friends whatever their sexual proclivity, indeed the more varied the better
