The usual advice about communication and compatibility is present here, in a very clear and well laid-out form. And as a tool to help you think more rationally about what you want from a relationship, and how to get it, this could well be valuable.
However this book is very American in outlook, and as a British person I found it a difficult read at times. If you are not currently in a relationship, want to get married, and are happy to treat that journey like a business plan, this is the book for you. But be warned, there's not much room for romance here. Nor, in my opinion, is there much room for any relationship that doesn't fit a very traditional mould.
So, if you are comfortable with the idea of US-style 'dating' and want to draw up a battle plan, this is a good read. But if you are not, or are having problems with an existing relationship, I would look elsewhere - for instance the Relate guide to Better Relationships Better Relationships: Practical Ways to Make Your Love Last (Relate Guides).
