About the Author
Frank Hampson was perhaps best known as the creator and original artist for Dan Dare, but he also illustrated a number of children's books for Ladybird. Dan Dare was first published in the British comic The Eagle in April 1950, and was last published as an ongoing series in 1996 - although Dan had undergone more than a few changes by then.

I loved reading my father's original copies of Dan Dare as a 10 year old boy back in '79 and my son now loves reading these excellent hard cover collections of Dan Dare stories. The books are really nicely put together and have great background information as well.

Pure boyhood nostalgia brought back memories of the Eagle, bought weekly, plus a Mars bar and sherbert, all for 9 old pence!!!!
Artwork and colour are as good as always, and the characters are, of course, unchanged.

Another Dan Dare classic! The artwork, again, is some of the best comic book-art I have ever come accross.

Classic Dare!
Classic Dare. I grew up on Dan Dare, a bright light for chuildren (and adults) in deepest darkest Lancashire of the 50's. Love the artwork and story line.
