G Funk is probably my favourite variant of the rap genre. Warren G produces this class, flawless album in the mid 90's and you can still feel the coolness ten years on. Regulate, the first track, is fantastic...the smooth beat continues throughout the whole album and although the lyrics aren't 100%, you must remember that this is not what G Funk is about. Without this album, Tha Dogg Pound, Nate Dogg and such would not have the style they do today. Warren's smooth voice floats over track after track and compliments each one superbly. If you're not a big fan of NWA, Xzibit or 50 Cent then I suggest you give this a listen and watch yourself groove along!
This album re-defines the word "cool" and takes it further, the English Language cannot express how funky yet smooth this album is. Go buy it now and waste no more time.
