This is an amazing album, that's really no exaggeration. Both complex and simple, and a showcase for Walters' truly mesmerizing vocals and haunting narrative talent.
Certain songs evoke Jeff Buckley and Elliott Smith's troubled, raw, vulnerability, whilst others have a tremulous up-beat positivity, a suggestion of better things to come.
That being said, anyone looking for some light listening should probably leave now, because there is no word to describe this record other than heartfelt, particularly tracks such as my personal favorite - 'Redwoods' (with lyrics written specially for the album by poet Simon Armitage CBE), or the tear-jerking 'Tethered'.
Ethereal, dark and at the same time positive, this album is Walters' most complete record to date, and should find a place in every music lovers' collection.
