Must have this, and would prefer the Blu-ray. Can someone post whether it's region coded when the disc is released next week? I've got a region-free DVD player, but my Blu is locked.

Okay, next question: is it 60hz or 50? As I understand it, 60 should play anywhere, 50 will only play correctly on PAL displays. I ask because there are a number of "region-free" discs (Say, "Being Human" Series 1) that are listed at some sites as "Free" or "ABC", but are then listed at others as being "Free, but 50hz".

(Why, oh why can't they just make this simple?)

according to third party sellers in amazon.com "it is region free and is guaranteed to play in all US blu ray players, however it will NOT play in PS3's or any Sony Blu Ray Player "

The truth that I see all these blue ray discs and wait to buy, I'm from latin america, I have my CD player from America, ask me personally, the companies that publish these records, it never occurred to him to free zone? that your product can be purchased by any interested party on the planet.
It would be good to take it into account.

What's up with not being able to play in US PS3s or and Sony BluRay Player? Aren't they the best players?
I have a US Slim 160Gb PS3 and I'd really like to get this Blu Ray version of WOSS.
As I check out different sites and posts it seems it doesn't matter or some play or some don't. What's the deal?
Can someone tell me if I can get this to play on my system for sure?

I received this as a Christmas present from my mother in England.
I am in Japan and it does not work for me.
I don't know whether it is because of the region or the problems associated with trying to play in on a PS3
Very, very sad!

have you tried playing it on another blu ray player aside from a ps3?

Have you got any response from BBC yet? Just returning my blu-ray today since disk one is not playing at all (on US PS3). Disk 2 seems to play fine.

Thanks!

I'm also in Japan and it doesn't play on my Panasonic, so I don't count this as region free!
