Reginald D Hunter seems to be everywhere these days. From HIGNFY to Would I Lie To You and even Dave's Argumental, he's been on nearly every great panel show in Britain. There is a reason for this of course, he's an excellent comedian. The thing about Reginald is that he very likeable, more likeable than nearly any comedian I can think of. When he speaks, you want to listen and you can almost feel yourself laughing before he's even hit the punchline, such is the man's charisma. I should point out however, that if you've seen him on tv and are expecting more of the same, you may end up very disappointed. His material is very offensive and nothing like the family friendly material he performed on Live at The Apollo. If you don't mind such things, you should absolutely love this DVD.

If you can imagine a Frankie Boyle circa 2008 for being near the knuckle then this is the style.

RDH talks about all the subjects you should not be saying - like asking your dad about anal sex .......

Its not something to watch with little kids or those easily offended but this is fantastic!

I've been a fan of Reginald's humour when he was on panel shows for some time now, and I've seen him do short stand up stints, and again, found him very funny.

But I wondered how good he would be doing a whole show.

He is superb, I was disappointed with Jimmy Carr and Sarah Milican's efforts this year, but this has trumped both of them.

Excellent, I will certainly be looking for his next tour dates.

Firstly - this DVD is not suitable for watching with your family. He tells lots of racist, sexist, rude and dirty jokes. They are long jokes which is actually good in this sense as he is interesting to listen to.
But this is definitely not something to watch with your mum in the room. Get the mates over and a few pints and its a great night in front of the telly.

I actually found him really funny and will watch the DVD several times. Although I can see why many will not. If you like the saucy material that crosses the line, then you will like this DVD.

I wouldn't say this DVD is racist or sexist (as at least one other review has said) but it's definitely grown-up humour. He does use the N-word a lot, but, as he says from the outset, that's just the way he talks. There's one joke that plays on Jewish stereotypes - but I don't think it's racist per se - maybe cleverer people than me can clarify that one. He does talk about sex a lot, and he swears a lot - including the C-word - which doesn't bother me, but it might bother some.

The problem for me is that you just don't get a lot of laughs. I've got a lot of time for RDH, and I've enjoyed him when I've seen him on TV, but here I don't think he's at his best. I just didn't laugh enough.

I'd been looking forward to watching this for a long time only to be let down by the result. Reginald D. Hunter is one of the funniest guests I've ever seen on the likes of HIGNFY and 8 out of 10 cats. It would appear, however, that he's at his best with off the cuff comments and a panel of his peers to bounce off as this performance wasn't anything like as funny as I've seen him before. There are a few grins and chuckles here and there but nothing like the oh-god-pause-the-playback-so-I-can-finish-laughing moments he's served up on the TV. A real pity.

My partner and I have really enjoyed watching Reginald D Hunter on a few shows that we have seen him appear on so thought we would give this a try. Unfortunately we turned it off about a quarter of the way through because it just wasn't funny. He talks a lot about enjoying putting his finger in female's "rear end" and it's just not funny.
One day I may go back to watch the rest of it and maybe it gets better. But that day is not today... or anytime soon.

I've seen Reg on Have I Got News for You and various other things, making cheeky comments here and there and I never really heard him talk in depth until I saw this. He's great and intelligent and funny and he makes some great observations. However, some of his material is pretty controversial and you wouldn't want to watch it in the wrong company. I particularly think women might have their comfort limits stretched by some of the stuff he says, so I'd advise watching it before you show it to anyone who might be offended by it. Definitely watch it though if you like refreshing comedy from a man who's not afraid to speak his mind.
