Product Description

Amazon.co.uk Review

Reggae for Kids: Movie Classics takes the magic of Disney and ramps it up tenfold with 13 Disney movie themes and tunes from the studio's well-loved films--all set to five-star reggae interpretations. Some of these songs sound as if they were meant be recorded in the syncopated and lilting reggae form, especially Bunny Wailer's playful reprise of "Hakuna Matata", Don Carlos's splendidly rich "Zippity Do Dah", and J.C. Lodge's "Colors of the Wind". The latter tune is so inspired by Lodge's honey-coated vocal that the song's poignant lyrics translate well between the worlds of difference between European explorers and the Native American honour of nature and spirit. Lodge's rendition ultimately communicates much of the myth embroidered in Jamaican music and religious beliefs. Like so many of Disney's deep and lyrical songs that create a place of timelessness where childhood never ends, these transported classics are effortlessly reborn--and rejuvenated--for any listener. Highly recommended. --Martin Keller

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for Adults too!, 23 May 2001
By cindy k. young - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Reggae for Kids: Movie Classics (Audio CD)
I heard this cd played on a local public radio station in Cincinnati back in late March and was moved to call the radio station to find out what the cd was and where I could find it....Amazon.com had the cd and I was thrilled that I wouldn't have to drive back to Ohio to make the purchase. The cd is wonderful for children and adults who grew up with Disney movies and songs.

5.0 out of 5 stars My sons' favorite CD, 14 Sep 2008
By Alicia Markowitz - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Reggae for Kids: Movie Classics (Audio CD)
I bought this CD without knowing any reviews. We lucked out...because its great. My son is 3 years old and loves all the songs on it. His favorite is The Lion King! It's not a very long CD but its worth it. You can play it again and again and again. Its fun and relaxing at the same time. I feel like I'm on a beach somewhere!!!!

Anytime you are trying to connect with children through music, it helps if you like the music too. I get into this c.d. I just love it and my preschool class loves to see me so happy.
