Biography

Gregory Isaacs sings a love song like no other Jamaican artist. Effortless, smooth, seductive and sensual, his "Lonely Lover" persona has made him one of the most popular singers in Jamaica since the '70s. Reggae's version of Marvin Gaye, Isaacs' songs remain as popular in dancehalls as they are in bedrooms, having virtually invented the reggae genre known as ... Live in London in 1982, Gregory Isaacs is in good form with the great Roots Radics and Wally Badarou (synthesizers). His sensual yet cool vocals over the pulsating bass of Flabba Holt run through 11 recent and old (Love is overdue) hits. The big hits Soon forward and Number one alternate with solid versions of Mr. Brown and Ooh what a feeling. The enthusiastic crowd creates good vibes, as Gregory himself remarks. This 44'15 (short)cd lets us relive the magic of one of reggae's greats: Gregory Isaacs.

A live recording, with an enthusiastic audience singing along makes it a very enjoyable foot-tapping CD. One of Gregory's best.

Great Roots Rock 5 April 2007
By B. Smith - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
the greatest live reggae lovers rock album of all time - Gregory's pipes in full tilt, bass line heavy, splashing cymbals all sum up this bastion of late 70's early 80's rockers in a rub a dub style - right!
