Six weeks ago I noticed that my hair was starting to show noticeable signs of thinning & resolved to try this out on the basis "it couldn't do any harm"; 2 weeks on & my hair had thinned rapidly, 6 weeks in & the top of my head resembles a billiard ball! In a month & a half I've gone from being a bit wispy when it is windy to bald.
According to the manufacturer, this period of `shed' is temporary & a good thing showing new hair is growing: well, I can't see it & neither can anyone else, maybe in the fullness of time hair will re-grow; presently I am condemned to wearing hats whenever I go out.
I will update this review during the coming months, but at the moment I think this product should carry a cigarette style health warning or at least come with a free cap.
UPDATED 24/04/12 I have changed the star rating from 1 to 2 as I now have suede like hair reappearing at the vertex, along with some new hair showing at the upper temple area. Hopefully the horror of the 'shed' has finished, what I would recommend to help get through the thinning period is Mane Coloured Hair Thickening Spray 200ml, it really makes a difference. I've also started on Vitabiotics Wellman Tricologic Hair Growth Tablets 60 Tablets to give any new growth the best possible start.
UPDATED 07/05/12. Hair is definitely re-growing & this seems to be occurring in my original target areas of concern as well as where it fell out due to shedding, I still have dramatically less volume of hair if compared to when I started with this product, but the actual scalp coverage is improving. Also down like hairs are appearing on the `theoretical' hair line of my forehead , as to whether these will amount to much only time will tell, as the perceived wisdom seems to be that Regaine has little effect on this region.
I encountered a problem developing dermatitis on my hands due to the foam, but noticed another reviewer recommended applying the foam directly to the scalp. I tried this method & the dermatitis has cleared up, also (perhaps incidentally) the re-growth of hair seems to have speeded up slightly since applying it this way.
A word about Vitabiotics Wellman Tricologic Hair Growth Tablets 60 Tablets, judging by the colour of what disappears down the drain, I feel the suggested dose of 3 tablets per day is probably over the top; however taking one tablet 3 times a day does have a psychosomatic benefit as I feel I'm doing something else that is a positive in the attempt to get my hair back.
As a result of the foregoing, I've up rated this product to 3 stars, I doubt it will get much higher as I can't forgive the horrifying nature of the aggressive `shed' I went through, although if I end up looking like Robert Plant in his `pomp' I'll give it 5.

as a folicly challenged bloke in his late 30's I thought I would give it a try...sadly perhaps it wasn't for me, or i didn't use it consistantly enough because no difference...male pattern baldness cannot be cured!!! lol Happy to be thin on top!!
