I am actually reviewing a reel to reel copy of the original album, burned to CD. I found this album in the base library at Torrejon AB in Spain. I'd just got a reel to reel tape deck and went crazy recording everything that even looked remotely interesting. Unfortunately, I recorded so much, I never got around to actually listening to this stuff until 36 years later!
The sound fidelity of my copy to CD is horrible, with everything skewed to the right channel and the sound muffled, the vocals buried in the background. Despite all, I really like this album. The first few songs remind me of Pete Townshend, not in the music but the vocal style. It is very British sounding. Not bad songs but then things get really interesting with two poppish cuts with In My Dreams, and Little Boy. After only listening to this album one or maybe two times 36 years ago, I instantly remembered those two songs as I heard them again. The rest of the album has some good songs too, but they require a few more listens to really get into.
Overall, this is a lost gem that should have done much better. Then again, there are literally hundreds of albums out there that deserve more. So much for the music biz. A lost gem. Highly recommended.
