Product Description

Don't know what to do with your life? Drawn to so many things that you can't choose just one? New York Times best-selling author Barbara Sher has the answerÂ--do EVERYTHING!

With her popular career counseling sessions, motivational speeches, workshops, and television specials, Barbara Sher has become famous for her extraordinary ability to help people define and achieve their goals. What Sher has discovered is that some individuals simply cannot, and should not, decide on a single path; they are genetically wired to pursue many areas. Sher calls them "Scanners"Â--people whose unique type of mind does not zero in on a single interest but rather scans the horizon, eager to explore everything they see.

In this groundbreaking book, readers will learn:

• what's behind their "hit and run" obsessions

• when (and how) to finish what they start

• how to do everything they love

• what type of Scanner they are (and which tools they need to do their very best work)

By Archer
Format:Paperback
That's an exaggeration, but only a slight one. This book has certainly saved my sanity, if not my life. I thought I was destined to forever be a jack of all trades, master of none - despite being (I think) a fairly bright and capable person. I felt I was living life in a constant state of flux, repeatedly being swept away by some new passion, which never lasted long enough for me to achieve anything. If this sounds like you, you need this book. The first chapter spoke so directly to me I almost wept. I now have the tools and the attitude I need to pursue every passion AND achieve my goals AND stay sane - and I'm no longer wasting my time and energy trying to find the one thing I'm supposed to be doing. Barbara Sher is welcome round my house any time!

Calling all Scanners 20 Sep 2009

If you're a scanner - that is there is so many things in life you want to do/achieve but get terrified when you are asked to 'choose' this book is such a relief! Barbara Sher takes you through the characteristics of scanners, reassuring you that you aren't crazy and you can work it out to be you! What a release from fear of being who society wants you to be in terms of having the career that you should have. Thoroughly recommended!

A great read. 29 Sep 2011
Format:Paperback
I came across this title in a rather roundabout way, but I had a feeling as I ordered it that I was going to love it - and I was not wrong! For those of you who might feel that you have changed path a million times, can't seem to commit to one line of work, are always looking for new opportunities, always have hundreds of projects on the go at the same time..... this book provides a comforting explanation that there's nothing WRONG with you :) I could really relate to the ideas in this book and it gave me lots reasons to believe in myself. Highly recommended.
