This is an excellent book. It is well written and very difficult to put down! It is a very real story of an incredible woman who found her calling in life and did everything in her power to get where she wanted to be. Reading this book will give you a much deeper insight into the orangutans' world, including their social structure, behavour, details about the environment in which they live, as well as a compassionate understanding of the impact of humans on their species' future.
Highly recommended!!!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and found myself being transported to another time and place, it is both enjoyable and educational. Birute Galdikas tells the story of her work in a captivating manor that makes you feel as if you are there along side her experiencing things with her. I would recommend this book to anyone young or old.

For me a sumptuous read. It accompanied me throughout my journey through Borneo and Sumatra showing me the world of the Orang Utan as seen through the eyes of the author. Yet the further I travelled and read, what was fiction became the facts of my experience which mirrored many aspects of the authors observations. Recommended reading for anyone searching for the "man of the forest"!!!!!!!
