About the Author
Pat Barfoot was born in Seaford, Sussex, in 1930 and was educated at Rye Grammar School, Bishop Otter College, Chichester and Brighton College of Art. She taught art, crafts, English, drama and P.E. in Kent, Sussex, Kenya, New Zealand and Lincolnshire, retiring in 1985. From 1973 to 1981 she also ran a studio pottery in Lincolnshire. Pat's interests have included amateur dramatics, writing, photography and sport, especially golf which she still plays. Having edited various school publications over the years and the 1904-2004 Centenary book of her golf club, she felt it was time to publish some of her more personal writing, much of which relates to the time she spent working abroad.
