Product Description

Product Description

Rees Howells was a man of little worldly fame, yet through Norman Grubb's best-selling biography, his life story has become known to millions. Born in a Welsh mining village, Rees Howells left school at twelve and worked in a tin mill and a coal mine. As he came to know the redeeming power of his Lord and Saviour he faced the implications of an entire surrender, learned to love the unlovely and found the key to the power of prayer. As a result he became a man of great Christian inspiration to others in both Britain and Southern Africa where he became the channel of a mighty revival. Norman Grubb describes all this, but also the foundation of the Bible College of Wales at Swansea, perhaps the greatest monument of Rees Howells' work, and the intercessory prayer that became his hallmark, impacting as it did on national policy and international affairs. Rees Howells' life was so great that the Church of Christ still feels the impact of his truths of the Spirit and the Scriptures in a unique and amazing way. Every chapter in this biography is full of drama and light. Rees Howells, Intercessor is an enthralling story, told with simplicity, humanity and humour, and it has proved an inspiration for nearly half a century, during which time it has been translated into more than forty languages and has sold over ten million copies worldwide.

5.0 out of 5 stars A book every Christian should read, 19 Sep 2000
By A Customer
If your soul desires to know the one true and living God, REES HOWELLS INTERCESSOR will introduce you to him. There are mysteries in the Holy Scriptures that only the Spirit of God can reveal. Rees Howells' life is an accounting of His divine lessons in this intercessor's life. This book will bring to life new meaning to 1John 2:27 "But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him." I challenge you to this kind of faithful life. I am into my third or fourth reading of this book...over the past 8 years. This book reveals a true and personal God who is willing to take any one of us willing to walk His walk and talk His talk. Read this book! Our God is an AWESOME God! Sheri Chase

5.0 out of 5 stars an amazing testimony, 19 Sep 2000
tom lennie (see more about me) from scotland This is a most amazing biography. I've read literally scores of Christian biographies, but this is undoubtedly one of the most enriching of them all. I've read it over and over - there's just so much in it; the life story of a Welsh man who sought to fully trust God in all he did, and who constantly stepped out in faith, often 'dangerously', yet God always provided for him. So challenging to each of us personally to really 'walk' with God, to put our faith to the test.

A VERY rewarding read indeed.
