A holiday in Australia is not complete without visiting the world's largest barrier reef. Should you be travelling 'down under', contemplating a trip, or just curious to why this enormous biomass attracts so many visitors then you should be reading this book. Looking at the reef from many different perspectives makes 'Reefscape' a very interesting read for the uninitiated. Should you be on the reef itself you'll be caught up in the magic that has quite obviously captivated the author. An environmental scientist will be fascinated to learn about the meaning of the reef system to the aboriginals of australia, and an anthropologist will be equally enthralled when reading about the environmental damage that we humans are inflicting. Indeed, this book is educational as well as entertaining, and the passion with which the author writes cannot help to be contagious.
