If you are wanting to keep a reef aquarium for the first time, or are an experienced aquarist, this book provides VITAL information for you. The layout and content are fascinating and the pictures that accompany the text are quite stunning. All aspects of the hobby are covered from setting up right through to propagating your inverts. There is an extensive taxonomy and recognition section as well as comments on how to keep species and their requirements in your system.Quite simply...BUY THIS BOOK! Also, volume two is an excellent volume dedicated to soft corals and anemones. Get them both and feel at ease with what you are doing.

Everyone from Expert to beginner reef keeper should have this book as their "bible" of "How to". Don't consider a reef tank without it. This book will not only help you build a successful reef, it will allow you to help others who have trouble in their reef(s).

It is a very comprehensive book which has concise information and excellent photographs. The information is presented in a clear yet accurate fromat such that it caters for the very amateur of aquarists as well as the experts. I have never come across a better book on reef-keeping.
