5.0 out of 5 stars Digital version is pretty cool, 21 Mar 2011
This review is from: Reeds Nautical Almanac 2011: Including Digital Access (Paperback)
I have used the digital version - it is now available. I must admit I was impressed. I really liked the fact that you could set up "My almanac" so you could set up the ports that were relevant to you - and you can set "my home port" - so that it appears on your front page and give you up to date weather info. You get access to tidal streams, passage info, and general info that you find in the Almanac. It seemed easy to navigate and you can work both on line and offline. Whilst the digital Almanac will never replace the paper one - it strikes me it is a great addition - planning your summer cruise from the comfort of your own home is much easier now. It would of been easy just to digitalise it the almanac - but I think being able to build your own almanac is a pretty cool idea and has added more than just making it digital. I don't feel I need to review the paper version - that is as good as ever.

5.0 out of 5 stars Essential reference for any sailor, 22 Nov 2010
This review is from: Reeds Nautical Almanac 2011: Including Digital Access (Paperback)
Reeds Nautical Almanac is the most comprehensive and detailed reference book a sailor could want. Never sail away without it! In sailing round the UK and Ireland I have found it better than any of the other pilot books, though it is somewhat condensed in places and needs a bit of experience to read it properly. Make sure you get the righ edition.

This review is from: Reeds Nautical Almanac 2011: Including Digital Access (Paperback)
Book delivered quickly and in very good condition but it came without the digital access card. Not an big issue for me but why promote this extra and not deliver it?
