This was my second choice for a Kettlebell as the one I wanted has been out of stock from the only UK supplier for weeks. Compared to that, which is a cast iron powder coated effort, I think this is inferior but still a worthy second. We actually use these very Kettlebells at my gym. The vinyl covering is good quality and shouldn't be too vulnerable to losing chunks, but as is the nature of vinyl, it will scuff, whereas a top end cast iron Kettlebell, which this is competing with, should fair far better to abuse. Don't go using it on hard outdoor surfaces. Opt for grass. That said, it is an attractive Kettlebell and feels fine in the hand. The painted handles on the ones at the gym are worn, but the colour underneath is similar so you won't notice it a great deal. The handles aren't smooth as smooth but my hands don't suffer too much. The vinyl has a tacky feel and can stick on your arm slightly when doing things like Get Ups. This is either good because it is kept a little more stable when against your arm, or bad if you would rather it didn't. It depends on your preference. It doesn't bother me too much. Over all i felt it was worth buying and at a smidge over 50 squid, it is 10 less than the one I wanted. And if it's good enough for a gym, and a large franchise gym at that, then it's probably good enough for me.
