4.0 out of 5 stars Zombie Moon shine! 4 Feb 2004
With a title like "Redneck Zombies" You get images of fat rednecks drinking dodgy alcoholic beverages brandishing shotguns while being chased around by the living dead... Well guess what! Thats exactly what this outrageous funny as hell "zombie" movie offers. If you like your serious zombie movies then this probably won't float your boat. But if your up for a laugh and like zombies that dissolve when doused in aerosol and some interesting drug effects... Buy this and knock yourself out! A top film that you won't regret buying!

3.0 out of 5 stars Moonshine madness 1 July 2006
When some rednecks use a radioactive drum as a still for hooch they and everyone who drinks it turn into meat tearing zombies.

Average but fun is the best description of this movie. Some of the gore is great fun, just bang the animal entrails and blood around the place and hope for the best. These guys are obviously horror fans and it shows.

Some of the humour is okay but most of it is awfull! As is the incredibly dodgy acting and editing and the usual stereotypical characters (The guy whos permantely drunk and the black crazy who pretends to be a zombie are my favs).Watch the end cabin scene, its great fun!.

3.0 out of 5 stars Really, really bad... but not in a good way 16 Mar 2003
Format:VHS Tape
Even for a Troma Film, this one is bad. Shot on video, it makes no pretence at being serious in any way; the acting is dreadful and the special effects just...aren't that special. Most of the budget seems to have gone into fake blood, mock intestines and various snot-like substances to be oozed or spewed by zombies. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but unlike other Troma films this one just doesn't get there. There are a few humorous moments, such as the autopsy carried out by a veterinary student under the influence of acid, but in general the jokes fall flat.

5.0 out of 5 stars The ultimate edition of the ultimate shot-on-video film 22 Dec 2008
By Ian M. Zapczynski - Published on
First off, if you haven't seen REDNECK ZOMBIES and the title intrigues you, then this is a must see. Strangely, this movie really polarizes its audience - I've found people who love it and those who don't love it really, really hate it with a passion. Whatever it is, it's both smart and sophomoric at the same time. Oh yes, and ultra-gory too.

This DVD release improves immensely over Troma's original release. For one thing, this is a new master seemingly created by Ed Bishop (with some slight "improvements" here and there). This means that the "Where's a nice place to take a s---" line isn't truncated like on the original DVD. The psychedelic sequences also have some additional effects added to them. Aside from this, the disc comes with a bonus soundtrack CD, 45 minutes of interviews from 12 cast and crew members, a fun commentary track, original promo trailers, outtakes and deleted scenes from the R-rated video version of the film. Basically, if you're a fan of REDNECK ZOMBIES, you absolutely must own this release. And if you've never seen the film before, note that this is probably the best example of a 1980s shot-on-video film. It's hilarious, gory and an all-around good time.

5.0 out of 5 stars The movie is as bad (good) as the title!!! 27 Feb 2006

This is one of the funniest movies evermade, it is also incredibly gory. I don't

know what the other viewers were expecting when they watched this fantastically horrible piece of garbage but if you go in watching with incredibly low expectations, like I did, you will be very happy. This movie is best viewed with a like minded friend so that someone is there to laugh when you make a third rate MST3K comment. If you like anything from Troma you must buy this movie.

5.0 out of 5 stars one of the best crappy movies 4 May 2006
By XposedGuts - Published on
This is def. a real "B" or Indie movie, shot on video. But as far as super low budget zombie movies, this is the best. Seems to be around the same budget as films like Flesh Freaks, and Dead Life for example and this blows them out of the water. Its funny and gory..holds true to TROMA Entertainment. Noticable influences from The Toxic Avenger, Zombie, and Day of The Dead. If your a zombie or troma fan, buy this dvd.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is the best trash I've ever seen! 11 Sep 1999

And some of you people who reviewed this movie call yourselves cheesy movie buffs! You're crazy. This movie is great and any cheesy horror fan in their right mind would love it. This movie has one of the best shots I have ever seen: The close up of the guy getting shot in the head against the wall. It was so real. The filmmakers are true genuises! This movie is a must for any true film fan's collection!

If you like bad acting combined with a whole lot of chicken blood, this movie is for you! THIS NEXT LINE WILL CONVINCE YOU TO SEE THIS MOVIE: You get to see a guy get stabbed in the eye with a corncob.
